And it’s all a big blur … :: Personal | Fraser Valley Lifestyle Photographer

The title says it all. It really does. The last few days, I should probably say weeks actually, have been a big blur.

We’ve had so much going on … all of it is SO exciting. After a while when you get so excited about so many things, you just get tired. I think tonight will be an early evening for me so I’m refreshed and ready to work in the AM! I’m sure your curious as to what’s been going on so let’s get into that …. point by point.

1) The DREAM BIG Wedding Contest. I’m so excited and proud to be a part of this. Myself and Cake Art by Rabia have teamed up to create a list of amazing vendors who are ready and willing to donate to create the ultimate wedding package. We’re 3/4 of the way through the contest and we’ve had a chance to meet some pretty amazing vendors AND contestants. The contest is coming to and end shortly but we’re excited to meet the winning couple and be apart of their special day. If you’re looking for more information on this, please visit our WEBSITE.

2) Elevate Workshops. I’m so honored and excited to team up with Jodie Lemke Photography to create the ultimate workshop in camera basics. We’re holding two workshops (one in Abbotsford on March 18, 2012 and the second in Penticton on May 12, 2012) and each of them will include 6 hours of teaching time, 2 snack breaks, lunch, goodie bags (yay!), giveaways, and HANDS ON learning time! The best part – it’s ONLY $222.00 for the entire day! To learn more and to register please visit out ELEVATE WORKSHOPS WEBSITE.

And lastly, 3) Our new puppy! This is NOT work related but it’s a big part of my life and I want to share it with you! Yesterday we went out to Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island to pick up Ben. Ben was with an amazing family but due to some unforeseen circumstances, they were unable to keep him there. They were an amazing family and we’re so grateful and thankful they trust us with their baby. Ben is a Purebred MacKenzie River Malamute and he’s the most beautiful dog I’ve ever seen. No lie. We’re excited to have him here and we’re excited he’s a part of our family! He’s wonderful with our kids, he’s patient, he’s got an old soul (he’s only 4) and he’s just all around exactly what we’ve always wanted in a dog! I see lot’s of walks in my future and I’m over the moon about it!:)

Phew – so that’s what’s been keeping me busy these last few weeks. I promise that over the next few weeks I’ll be around more and I appreciate your patience as I’ve been periodically MIA over the last few weeks!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and that you’ll have an even better week!

Happy Birthday Owen :: Personal | Fraser Valley Lifestyle Photographer

I’ve always been close to my family – they are extremely important to me!

As I mentioned in a post a few weeks back, this week we’re staying with my 3 cousins while my Aunt and Uncle renew their wedding vows in Vegas (woot woot – talk about FUN!). My cousins are 13, 14 and 16 – they’re at a fun-ish age and we’re excited to be here. Especially because today falls on a special day  - it’s Owen’s birthday!

I think I can officially say that Owen is the first boy I fell in love with! I was just 13 when he was born and just as I did with my other cousins, I was in love the minute I saw him. I’m so happy to have been here to see him grow up over the last THIRTEEN years. I can’t believe it’s been that long. He’s turned into such a fun, polite, and respectful boy.

To celebrate this day, we’ve had a nice breakfast, gone for a long walk with the dog and later we’re making him the dinner of his choice and going to a local frozen yogurt joint, Menchies for some dessert (which is super nice because I’ve been eating healthy lately and this is a nice treat).

Happy Birthday Owen! We love you SO much!

Brand Spankin’ NEW :: Business | Fraser Valley Lifestyle & Wedding Photographer

Wow … I actually felt like this day would never come! I’ve been pouring, what seems like every waking moment, into creating a new website – one that fits my personality and brand. Now, I finally get to share it with you.

There is a company you’ve heard me talk about many times – Showit. They’ve given me the freedom to create ANY site I want and very easily. My new site was created from scratch …. a year ago, there is no way I would have been able to create something like that – NO WAY! I’m happy to say it was a “fairly” seamless project and I can’t express how happy I am with the results. If you’ve been thinking about getting a website for the first time, or want to change the current one – please go with Showit! You’ll thank me later!:)

Now … on to the fun stuff! I want to explain my reasoning behind this site a little bit. I liked my last site – liked being the keyword. I wanted something I loved. My new site is a huge reflection of me … I love the colours (all of my sites have had pink in them), the layout, the way things move around and most important, how it displays my images and the feeling it gives off – fun, fresh and a little funky!

I LOVE that my site incorporates everything I do …. it’s got a fun tab for the non-profit organization I co-founded (Helping Hearts), it’s got a direct link to my bridal resource center and it shows what I’m chatting about on Facebook (which is awesome because I go on Facebook way to much!). Everything is easily accessed and clearly in view!

Along with my new website, is a new blog – one that also reflects my personality and new branding! This is powered by ProPhoto Blogs.  I’ve been hearing about them for a long time now and after actually taking the time to check them out – I fell in love and knew I could brand myself perfectly with their customizable templates. The best part – they have tutorial videos to help you EVERY step of the way – it was SO easy! Be sure to check them out too!

If you have any specific questions about my experience with Showit or ProPhoto Blogs please shoot me an email and let me know! (And if you want to visit their sites, they are linked above!)

Happy Saturday!

Baby Hannah :: Newborn Portraits | Fraser Valley Lifestyle Photographer

I looooove new babies, especially when their parents are friends. Baby Hannah was born to Dustin and Kiran – I went to highschool with Dustin and via friends and then Dustin, slowly got know Kiran. They are fabulous people and they now have two beautiful children!

Hannah was just about 3 weeks old when we did our session after some cuddling and coaxing, she slept like a little angel. She was the perfect little model for us!

Now, before I show you the images from our session I have to give a shout out to Hannah’s big brother, Aiden. He’s probably the cutest little guy I know. As soon as they walked in he was patting her head and showing me how proud he was of her – adorable! It was a challenge to get a picture of the two of them (seeing as he’s only 16 months old himself) but we took our take and captured a cute one of him looking at his little sister so lovingly! I can already tell that these two are going to have a special relationship!

A HUGE congratulations to Dustin, Kiran and Aiden on the new addition to their family!
